Importing Your Wallet into Magic Eden: Selecting Your Previous Wallet

Streamlining address discrepancies for seamless integration.

Updated over a week ago

Navigating the complexities of cryptocurrency wallets, particularly when importing them into Magic Eden Wallet, can sometimes lead to address discrepancies. However, with our newly implemented feature, users can now select the specific wallet they are importing from, ensuring a smoother experience.

This guide will walk you through the process step by step.

Choosing the wallet for importing

When importing a wallet into Magic Eden Wallet, users now have the option to specify which wallet they are importing from, reducing the chances of encountering address discrepancies.

Initiating the import

Start by clicking on the 'I Have A Wallet' button upon opening a fresh install of Magic Eden Wallet. If you are simply restoring your wallet from within the extension, you can refer to this guide.

Entering secret phrase

You will be directed to a screen where you can enter your 12-word secret phrase associated with the wallet you wish to import.

Selecting wallet provider

By default, the wallet is set on 'Auto-Detect', attempting to recognize the source wallet. To ensure accuracy and prevent derivation path importing issues, click on the 'Change' button.

Choosing wallet provider

A list of popular wallet providers such as Xverse, Phantom, and Solflare will be displayed. Select the appropriate wallet you are importing from and click the pink 'Apply' button.

Note:
Importing secret phrases from certain wallets, such as Ordinals Wallet, is not currently supported. We are working on expanding our compatibility over time.

Managing multiple accounts

If your imported wallet has multiple accounts, ensure to check the box indicating 'This wallet has multiple accounts'. Then proceed to enter your 12-word phrase as usual and click the pink 'Continue' button.

Important note:
Always exercise caution when entering your 12-word secret phrase and ensure that you are importing from a trusted source.

Restoring wallet

Once you've provided the necessary information, you will receive a notification that your wallet is being restored. You can safely close the extension while the restoration process takes place.

By following these steps, users can seamlessly import wallets into Magic Eden Wallet, effectively addressing any address discrepancies that may arise. For further assistance or questions, feel free to reach out to our support team via the chat widget on help.magiceden.io.
