Minting on Magic Eden's Ordinals Launchpad

Your guide to a seamless minting experience.

Updated over 2 months ago

This guide is designed to simplify the process of minting on Magic Eden's Ordinals Launchpad.

Wallet setup

Download wallet

Start your journey by downloading a secure and compatible wallet. Always ensure you're using the official website for the download, and double-check to confirm that your wallet offers a mobile version if you plan to mint on the go.

For an seamless experience, we recommend you use Magic Eden Wallet to mint.

Fund your wallet

Depending on the wallet you are using for the mint, it might have various receiving addresses. When funding for purchases or minting, ensure to send BTC exclusively to your 'Bitcoin' address. The 'Ordinals' address is where the ordinal will be automatically sent once the minting process is completed.

Popular exchanges like Binance or Coinbase can be convenient platforms to acquire Bitcoin. Also, you can do cross-chain swaps directly in Magic Eden Wallet.

Remember to include extra Bitcoin to cover transaction fees, which we'll delve into later.

Minting process

Mint

When the mint window opens, you can mint your Ordinals without interruptions.

Should you adjust your fees?

Guaranteed minters may not need to adjust fees. However, for those with overallocated whitelist spots, increasing transaction fees could be advantageous, especially when inscription allocation is based on the first block confirmation.

If you fail to select a sufficiently high fee and cannot mint within the specified timeframe, you will not incur charges.

Verifying your mint

To verify your transaction, examine your balance in the top right corner of Magic Eden and choose 'My Items.' Within the 'Activity' tab, locate your broadcasted mint.

Click on the indicated time (as shown in the example, stating 5mo) to confirm successful broadcasting.

This will open a transaction in mempool.space, a widely used Bitcoin block explorer. If no transaction appears or the 'Mint Broadcasted' tag is missing, consider attempting the minting process again.
