As Runes continually rise in popularity, we are seeing projects launching Ordinals collections for their Runes.

We're proud to announce that Magic Eden Launchpad now supports the minting of Ordinals using Runes. This guide is designed to highlight the minting process, as well as few points when minting with Runes.

What is Minting With Runes?

Minting with runes is as simple as it sounds. The creator of the Ordinal project dictates which Rune will be used as the main payment currency of that particular mint. Minters would need to obtain those Runes in order to mint from the Launchpad.

How Do You Mint With Runes?

Checking the Appropriate Mint Window & Minting

  • Just like minting on our BTC Launchpad, mint windows will be prominently displayed on the Launchpad page.

  • When your mint window opens, click 'Mint', approve the transaction on the wallet pop-up, and you're good to go!

⚠️ Ensure that you have the sufficient amount of the required Runes BEFORE your mint window starts.

Preparing Your Rune Lots

If you hold the required Runes in multiple lots or a single lot, our Launchpad accurately calculates and selects the amount of Runes required to mint.

No action is required on your end to prepare for a Runes Launchpad mint.

e.g. Mint price of Ordinals mint is 1,000,000 DECENTRALIZED.

  • If you have 16 lots of 62,500 DECENTRALIZED, all 16 lots will be used.

  • If you have 1 lot of 4,000,000 DECENTRALIZED, that 1 lot will be used, and you'll be returned 1 lot of 3,000,000 DECENTRALIZED.

Be prepared to explore the realm of Minting with Runes! The thrill of owning a coveted digital artifact awaits, and with this guide, you're well-equipped for success. Happy minting!
