In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to import your wallet using your recovery phrase into Magic Eden App. Our new wallet import update introduces an enhanced flow for detecting funded accounts, ensuring a smooth and reliable setup.
How the import wallet flow works
The Import Wallet flow can be reached in two ways
While on the initial wallet setup page then clicking “I Have A Wallet”. You can get to this initial setup page when you first install the wallet or when you go into Settings and “Delete All Wallets”.
When you already have a wallet imported or created, you can add another wallet by importing a new recovery phrase. Navigate to the Accounts page and click “Add Account”. Then click “Import Recovery Phrase”.
Entering your recovery phrase
You will be directed to a screen where you can enter or paste your 12-word or 24-word recovery phrase.
Ensure each word is separated by a single space and that there is no trailing space at the end of the last word. Use the Paste button if your phrase is copied from another source.
Detecting funded accounts
After entering your recovery phrase and pressing "Continue", the app will scan for funded accounts (addresses with token balances) associated with your recovery phrase.
A "Loading funded accounts…" screen will appear. Please keep the app open until the accounts finish loading.
Closing the app before the accounts finish loading can lead to the app becoming corrupted. You will need to reinstall the app or "Delete All Wallets" in Settings if you ever encounter this issue.
Review funded accounts
Once loading is complete, the app will display a list of funded accounts detected. Note that the app on this page will only detect native tokens such as BTC, SOL, ETH, POL, base ETH and not tokens such as PEPE, POPCAT, WIF.
You can now select the Previous Wallet where your recovery phrase was originally generated in.
The balance and addresses will be different depending on which Previous Wallet option you select.
You can also select the Dropdown Menu to select the Previous Wallet (e.g., Magic Eden, Phantom, Solflare, Xverse, Metamask, etc). Press "Apply" once you have selected the correct wallet option.
Selecting accounts to import
You are able to import multiple accounts at once associated with the recovery phrase.
You will be shown 5 sets of addresses (accounts) and previews of the addresses and their balances. Select which accounts you want to import. Press “Apply” button when done.
Don't see the right addresses?
If you do not see the addresses you are looking for, press the Dropdown Menu and choose a different Previous Wallet. It is important to check all the wallet options if the you cannot find the addresses you are looking for.
Restoring your wallet
Click "Apply" to finalize your selection. The app will display a "Restoring Wallet…" loading screen. Please keep the app open until the wallet finishes fully restoring.
Closing the app before the wallet finishes restoring can lead to the app becoming corrupted. You will need to reinstall the app or "Delete All Wallets" in Settings if you ever encounter this issue.
