Magic Eden is entering a new chapter focused on building experiences at the intersection of finance and entertainment. As part of this shift, we will be winding down certain marketplace surfaces and services, while continuing to support the Solana Marketplace and Packs.
Key Dates at a Glance
March 9 – Marketplace support for EVM chains and Bitcoin will end. Magic Eden will continue supporting the Solana Marketplace and Packs.
March 13 – Magic Eden Wallet switches to export-only mode. Swap and cross-chain features will be disabled.
March 27 – Bitcoin/Runes APIs and remaining Bitcoin services will be discontinued.
April 1 – Magic Eden Wallet will be removed from the App/Play Store and no longer supported. Existing installations can still export private keys.
May 1 – Full Magic Eden Wallet shutdown. Wallet may stop functioning entirely.
What marketplace experiences will remain available?
After March 9, the following Magic Eden experiences will remain available:
Solana Marketplace
Solana Packs
Solana Lucky Buy
All other marketplace surfaces, including those for EVM chains and Bitcoin, will no longer be accessible through the Magic Eden website.
What’s happening with the $ME token?
$ME remains an important part of the Magic Eden ecosystem.
As our product suite evolves, including Dicey, we expect $ME to remain an important part of how users engage across the platform. Right now, our focus is on execution and achieving strong product-market fit for Dicey.
We’ll share more clarity around how $ME integrates into our roadmap as it continues to develop.
What happens to my listings, bids, or offers on EVM chains?
No action is required.
All EVM marketplace listings, bids, and offers on Magic Eden are off-chain. When EVM support is shut down on March 9, these listings will simply stop being visible or actionable on Magic Eden. No funds or assets will be locked, and nothing needs to be manually canceled.
What happens to listings or activity on Bitcoin?
Magic Eden will be winding Bitcoin marketplace support on March 9.
Starting March 6, Bitcoin marketplace features — including bidding and auctions — will no longer be available on Magic Eden.
⚠️ Withdraw funds from bidding & auction wallets before March 9
If you have any funds in a Magic Eden Bitcoin bidding or auction wallet, you must withdraw them before March 6. After this date, these wallets will no longer be accessible through Magic Eden. If you miss this window, please reach out to our customer support team to withdraw your funds.
We strongly recommend withdrawing any remaining funds as soon as possible to avoid losing access.
Bitcoin services fully shut down March 27
Bitcoin services — including Runes and the Bitcoin API — will be fully discontinued on March 27. After this date, all remaining Bitcoin-related functionality will be turned off.
If you are a developer or partner using Magic Eden’s Bitcoin API or infrastructure, please make sure to export any important data before March 27.
What happens to account wallets?
An Account Wallet is an embedded wallet that some users created directly through the Magic Eden website.
Account Wallets will no longer be supported after April 1. To continue accessing the assets in your Account Wallet, you should export your private key and migrate it to another wallet provider before this date.
We recommend completing this process as soon as possible to avoid any disruption in access.
For step-by-step instructions, please refer to our Wallet Migration Guide.
What’s happening to the Magic Eden Wallet?
The Magic Eden Wallet (browser extension and mobile app) will be discontinued in phases.
Until March 13: Full functionality remains available, including swaps and cross-chain swaps.
March 13: The wallet will switch to export-only mode. Swap features will be disabled, and you will only be able to export your private key.
April 1: The wallet will be removed from the App Store and will no longer be supported or available for download.
May 1: Full wallet shutdown. The wallet may stop functioning entirely.
To continue accessing your assets, you should export your private key (not a recovery seed phrase) and migrate to another compatible wallet provider as soon as possible.
If you already have the Magic Eden Wallet browser extension or mobile app installed, you may still be able to access your wallet locally to export your private key after April 1. However, functionality is limited after March 13, and the wallet will no longer be supported. We strongly recommend completing your migration well before May 1.
Instructions on how to export your private key are available in the wallet and in our Wallet Migration Guide.
