Important Timeline
Magic Eden Wallet will be deprecated in phases:
Now – March 13, 2026: Full wallet functionality (swaps, cross-chain swaps, consolidation, exports)
March 13, 2026: Wallet switches to export-only mode (all swap features disabled)
April 1, 2026: Wallet removed from the App Store and no longer supported
May 1, 2026: Full shutdown — wallet may stop functioning entirely
To avoid any disruption, we strongly recommend exporting your private key and migrating well before May 1.
If you already have the Magic Eden Wallet browser extension or mobile app installed, you may still be able to access your wallet locally to export your private key after April 1. However, the wallet will no longer be supported or available for download.
This guide walks you through how to securely export your private key from the Magic Eden app.
⚠️ Important: Anyone with access to your private key can fully control your wallet and assets. Keep it secure and never share it with anyone.
Before You Begin
Exporting your private key allows you to continue using the same wallet address and assets in another wallet.
If you plan to swap, consolidate, or perform cross-chain swaps before migrating, complete those actions before March 13, when the wallet enters export-only mode.
You will need to manually write down your private key—copying to clipboard is disabled for security reasons. Please note, your private key is case sensitive.
Make sure you are in a private location where no one can see your screen.
Private key vs. recovery (seed) phrase: A private key is a long string of letters and numbers that gives access to one wallet — this is what you will export in this guide. A recovery (seed) phrase is a list of 12 or 24 words used to recover a wallet. You do not need your recovery phrase for this process.
⚠️ Never share your private key or recovery phrase with anyone. Anyone with access can control your wallet.
Steps to Export Your Private Key
1. Open the Magic Eden app
Open the Magic Eden app and tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner of the Portfolio page.
2. Go to Backup settings
Scroll to the Security section and select Back Up.
3. View recovery phrase
You will see a warning message emphasizing the importance of keeping your recovery phrase safe and not sharing it with anyone. If you wish to continue, click the 'View Recovery Phrase' button and enter your passcode
4. Access the Private Key page (Does not apply to embedded wallet)
You will first be taken to the Recovery Phrase page.
If you have already completed the recovery phrase backup flow, you will see a key icon in the top-right corner. Tap this icon to open the Private Key page.
Don’t see the key icon?
Tap Continue on the Recovery Phrase page to complete the backup flow. Once completed, the key icon will appear.
Magic Eden Wallet uses a different Solana derivation path than most other wallets, so importing your recovery phrase into another wallet may generate a different wallet address. To keep the same wallet and assets, you must export and import your private key.
5. Select the network
On the Private Key page, use the dropdown menu to select the network for the private key you want to export.
On Embedded wallet you will be prompted with the Dynamic module. Please select the checkbox and reveal your phrase
6. View and record your private key
Tap View Key to reveal your private key.
The key may initially appear partially hidden (ending in ...)
Tap the key to reveal it in full
Manually write down the private key exactly as shown
For security reasons, copying and pasting the private key is not supported.
⚠️ Your private key is case sensitive.
Steps to Export Your Account Wallet Private Key
1. Open the Magic Eden Website

2. Open Your Account Settings

After Exporting Your Private Key

Security Reminders
Never share your private key with anyone
Anyone with this key can steal all assets in your wallet
Avoid storing your private key digitally unless it is encrypted and stored securely
Keep your written backup in a safe, private location
To avoid risk of losing access, we strongly recommend exporting your private key and migrating your wallet well before May 1, 2026.
If you need assistance, please contact Magic Eden Support as early as possible. Support availability may be limited as the wallet approaches full shutdown.
