In this guide, we’ll walk you through the improved steps to import your wallet using your recovery phrase in Magic Eden App. This update introduces an enhanced flow for detecting funded accounts, ensuring a smooth and reliable setup.
Initiating the import
Open a fresh installation of Magic Eden Wallet or navigate to the 'Accounts' menu in an existing setup.
Click on the 'I Have A Wallet' button to start the import process.
Entering your recovery phrase
You will be directed to a screen where you can enter or paste your 12-word or 24-word secret recovery phrase.
Ensure each word is separated by a single space. Use the Paste button if your phrase is copied from another source.
Detecting funded accounts
After entering your recovery phrase, the app will automatically scan for funded accounts associated with your seed phrase.
A "Loading funded accounts…" screen will appear with an animated mascot. Keep the app open during this process.
Reviewing funded accounts
Once scanning is complete, the app will display a list of funded accounts detected.
Dropdown Filter: Use the dropdown menu to filter accounts by wallet provider (e.g., Magic Eden, Phantom, Solflare, Xverse, Metamask, etc.).
Review balances and associated assets across each account.
Selecting accounts to import
If the wallet contains multiple accounts:
Toggle through and select the accounts you wish to import.
If any addresses are missing, you can add software accounts to the recovery phrase later.
Restoring your wallet
Click 'Continue' to finalize your selection.
The app will display a "Restoring Wallet…" progress screen. Keep the app open while the restoration completes.
Important notes and limitations
Manual filter
The wallet is set to 'Funded Accounts' by default, but you can manually select the source wallet for better accuracy and to avoid derivation path issues.
Unsupported wallets
Certain wallets are not currently supported for recovery phrase import. We’re continually working to expand compatibility. If you encounter any issues, contact the provider for details about their derivation paths.
Multiple accounts
If you notice that not all addresses are imported, try adding a software account linked to your recovery phrase.
Exercise caution
Always ensure you’re entering your recovery phrase in a trusted app to avoid potential security risks.
Account and recovery phrase limits
Magic Eden Wallet has the following limits for adding accounts:
Recovery Phrases: You can add up to 5 different recovery phrases to your wallet.
Total Accounts: You can add up to 30 accounts per wallet, spread across all recovery phrases.
The updated import flow in Magic Eden App provides an intuitive and reliable way to bring your existing wallets into our app.
