Magic Eden’s cross-chain wallet currently does not offer the ability to directly export private keys for Taproot addresses. However, with some additional steps, you can use third-party wallets like Sparrow and Unisat to manually extract your private keys.

Step-by-step guide to export Taproot private keys

Import your seed phrase into Sparrow wallet

  • Download and install Sparrow Wallet on your computer.

  • Open Sparrow and select the option to import your seed phrase. Enter the same seed phrase you use with your Magic Eden Wallet.

  • Once imported, Sparrow will display all the sub-accounts associated with your seed phrase.

  • Note down the derivation paths for each sub-account that you want to extract. The derivation path helps map the Magic Eden Wallet's accounts, and you will use this information later. For Magic Eden Wallet, each account corresponds to the first address in each sub-account.

Import your seed phrase into Unisat wallet

  • Download and install Unisat Wallet (ensure you have the correct version from a trusted source).

  • After installation, open Unisat and select the option to import your seed phrase (use the same seed phrase you entered in Sparrow).

  • For each address that you want to retrieve, manually input the derivation path you obtained from Sparrow.

Adjust the derivation paths

  • The derivation paths exported from Sparrow include an additional “/0” at the end, which indicates the address index. However, Unisat does not use this part of the derivation path.

  • Before inputting the paths into Unisat, manually remove the “/0” at the end of each derivation path.

Export private keys from Unisat wallet

  • After adjusting the derivation paths and inputting them correctly into Unisat, the correct addresses should now appear in the Unisat Wallet.

  • Export the private key for each desired address by using Unisat's export feature.

Important notes

  • Magic Eden Wallet currently does not offer direct export of private keys for Taproot addresses, so this workaround is necessary for users who want to manage their private keys.

  • We can not support or recommend using third-party wallets like Sparrow or Unisat. If you encounter issues with these applications, you will need to reach out to their respective support teams for help.
