In this article, we'll walk you through the steps for purchasing and selling cryptocurrency within the Magic Eden Wallet.
Step-by-step guide to buying and selling crypto
The availability of payment methods is contingent upon your location and the third-party API providers you choose.
Accessing the Buy/Sell Crypto tab
Open your Magic Eden Wallet. Navigate to the Buy/Sell Cryptocurrency tab, represented by a dollar sign.
Purchasing crypto
Select the Buy tab
Choose the Buy tab to start your purchase.
Enter the amount
Input the amount of fiat currency you want to spend. The system will estimate the amount of cryptocurrency you will receive.
Choose payment method
You can pay via debit card (which takes minutes) or bank transfer (which can take up to 2 business days). Note that there are spending and receiving limits based on your Moonpay verification status. Select your preferred payment method.
Proceed to purchase
Click the pink 'Buy' button. This will open your browser. Log into Moonpay. If it’s your first time using Moonpay, you will need to complete identity verification.
Enter payment information
Input your card information. Your receiving address will automatically populate based on your Magic Eden Wallet account.
Review and agree
Review Moonpay’s Terms of Use and proceed to pay.
Processing:
You will see a screen showing that your purchase is being processed, along with an estimated time of completion, which varies depending on the blockchain.
Selling crypto
Select the Sell tab:
Choose the Sell tab if you wish to sell cryptocurrency.
Enter the amount:
Input the amount of cryptocurrency you want to sell. The system will provide an estimate of the fiat currency you will receive.
Choose payment method:
Select your preferred payment method for receiving funds.
Proceed to sell:
Follow the similar steps outlined in the purchasing process to complete your sale.
Tracking your orders
Order details
Click on the Order details tab to get important information for following up on your order, such as your Order ID.
Order history
From your history, you can view your order and its status (e.g., Pending, Complete).
Where is purchasing crypto through Magic Eden Wallet unavailable?
Purchasing crypto through Magic Eden Wallet is currently NOT available in the following countries and territories:
Afghanistan, Albania, Anguilla, Aruba, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belarus, Bermuda, Bolivia, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cayman Islands, Central African Republic, China, Congo, Cook Islands, Côte d'Ivoire, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Hong Kong SAR China, Iceland, Iran, Iraq, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Korea (North), Kosovo, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Macao SAR China, Malaysia, Mali, Malta, Mauritius, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Palau, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Russia, Samoa, Senegal, Seychelles, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Timor-Leste, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Turks and Caicos Islands, Uganda, Ukraine, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Virgin Islands British, Yemen, Western Sahara, and Zimbabwe.
Additionally, residents of specific US states and territories are also currently unable to use Magic Eden Wallet for purchasing crypto. These locations include Hawaii, Louisiana, New York, Texas, and the US Virgin Islands.
