In this article, we will guide you on how to find the necessary information from your Discord server to fill out the whitelist form. This information is required when setting up your whitelist. For more details on the whitelisting process, refer to this guide.
Enabling Developer Mode in Discord
Before we proceed, ensure that you have enabled Developer Mode in Discord. If you have already done this, you can skip to the next section.
Click on the 'User Settings' gear icon located at the bottom left corner of your Discord client.
Select 'Advanced' and enable 'Developer Mode'.
Retrieving Discord Information for the Whitelist Form
Now let's go through the process of finding the required information for each form field.
Discord Server Name:
Right-click on your server's icon in the left sidebar.
Click on 'Server Settings' and then select 'Overview'.
You will find your server name in the Overview section.
Discord Server ID:
Right-click on your server's icon in the sidebar.
Choose 'Copy ID' to obtain your server's Discord ID.
Discord Server URL
Note:
Do not provide a vanity URL (e.g. discord.gg/cool-project) as these can expire and be used for phishing attacks.
Right-click on your server's icon in the left sidebar.
Select 'Invite people'.
Important Note:
Click on 'Edit Invite Link'. Make sure your invite link never expires and has an unlimited number of uses.
Click on 'Generate a New Link' after modifying the expiry settings.
Copy the part of the link that comes after "discord.gg/".
Discord Role Name & IDs
Right-click on your server's icon in the left sidebar.
Go to 'Server Settings' and click on 'Roles'.
Locate your whitelist role, right-click it, and select 'Copy ID'.
Paste the ID into the form and write down the name.
Troubleshooting Verification Errors
Sometimes, due to a high number of people attempting to get whitelisted, the verification process may be overloaded, resulting in errors. If you encounter an error and are prompted to unlink and try again, follow these steps:
Wait for at least 5 minutes before attempting to unlink and try again.
Giving Discord servers enough time to process the unlinking will prevent the error from recurring. You may need to repeat this process multiple times.
