This guide will walk you through the different swap settings on Magic Eden's web swaps, allowing you set your slippage tolerance and set your priority fee.
Configuring swap settings
Open swap settings
From the Swap page, click on the settings icon on the top right corner of the swap modal.
Understanding slippage tolerance
Since swap quotes are dynamically changing in real time, they are subject to "slippage". which is the difference between the original quoted price and execution price.
β
Your slippage tolerance is the difference from the original quoted price (in %) you are willing to accept on the swap. If the final price fluctuates beyond your set slippage tolerance, the swap will fail.
Set slippage tolerance
By default your slippage will be automatically set. Magic Eden will optimize for transaction success and minimize price impact.
β
However, you can manually set your slippage and choose from preset options of 0.1%, 0.5%, and 1%, or enter a custom amount.β Once you have selected your desired slippage tolerance, press the "X" button.
Understanding priority fees
Priority fees are the amount you are paying to confirm your transaction on the blockchain. Paying a higher priority fee will increase the likelihood of your transaction being included in a block, especially during network congestion.
Set priority fees
By default your priority fee will be set to Medium. However, you can choose from preset options of Medium, High, or Very High. To set your slippage tolerance, click the pink "Apply" button.
